Spider Bot query (half views)
« on: March 26, 2009, 02:12:34 pm »
Hi Seo guys,

I am having some major issues with an index page of my site.
When I am using WEBCONF to test my main index page for my site it only picks up the urls from the page , the Title and description. None of the actual content from the page is being viewed by the spider bot.

Could you take a look at the source and see where I am making an error with the code ?
The site is free bets the index.html file is in question.
All other pages are fine.

In my opinion http://www.freebets.co.za/ does not show the complete contents in a search bot emulator because it tries to make a redirect to another page (?). What is your default page? deafult.html,index.html,index.php?
BTW, the tool on SEOAnalytic shows the same symptoms.

Hi Dragos,
Thanks for info. All my pages were using the same CSS file and the main landing page is index.html

I have redesigned the page again and now it seems to be getting picked up by the SEO bots.
I wouldnt want to have a drop in rank due to my error.
(just wonder how long it was like that before i knoticed)

I have tested it now on a few different Seo bot viewers and it looks ok.
Thanks
Dessie

Sometimes bots are unable to access the website they are visiting. If a website is down, the bot may not be able to access the website. When this happens, the website may not be re-indexed, and if it happens repeatedly, the website may drop in the rankings.
